Selecting a carrier for a route
Use the
action to:- Obtain a new solution from
the rating and routing process, for example, when updates to carrier contracts
are made
The
action overwrites the original solution from the rating and routing process with an updated solution. - Select the top-ranked carrier when the route has a New status
- Re-select the top-ranked carrier for a route in Tender Rejected status
The
action is useful when you want to review the carrier selection on shipments before the tender occurs. You can then review the carrier selection and tender the route when ready.Sequential tendering and manual tendering rules still apply for subsequent carriers after you perform the
action.The
action is available only to routes with these statuses:- New
- No Rates Found
- Carrier Selected
- Tender Canceled
- Tender Rejected
Use the Carrier Selected status. A route is not automatically tendered as a result of the action. The user must manually tender the route to the selected carrier.
From the Carrier Route list page, you can select a carrier for one route or multiple routes. From the Carrier Route detail page, you can select a carrier for the displayed route. action to send one or more routes to the rating and routing process. After rating and routing is completed, the routes receive aWhen you select multiple routes on the Carrier Routes list page and you select an action, and if one or more of the selected routes have a status that is not valid for the selected action, an error dialog indicates how many routes are not processed successfully.
