Working with the Shipment detail page
Use to view details for a selected shipment.
Depending on the status of the shipment you can perform specific actions:
- Create a new shipment
This action displays the Shipment screen where you can create a shipment by defining the shipment header and shipment detailed information.
- Select a carrier
(New status only)
This action sends the shipment to rating and routing, and if a rate contract/carrier is assigned, the shipment is placed into a status of Route Created. Further action must be taken from the resulting carrier route. The carrier route is placed in status of Carrier Selected.
- Tender a shipment
(New status only)
This action sends the shipment to rating and routing, and if a rate contract/carrier is assigned, the shipment is placed into a status of Route Created. The carrier route is placed in status of Tendered.
- Create a route
(New status only)
This action puts the shipment into a status of Route Created. During route creation the user decides to save the route, select a carrier, or render the route. The carrier route then has a status based on the action selected.
- Optimize shipments
(New status only)
This action puts the shipment into status of Candidate for Optimization, and the shipment is then staged to be optimized. From there, a scheduled run or a manually triggered optimization run picks up the shipment and processes it through optimization.
- Cancel optimized shipments
(Candidate for Optimization status only)
This action removes the shipment from Candidate for Optimization status and puts it back into New status where the user can take a further action such as , , or . The action sends a notice to the optimization process to no longer consider the shipment in any subsequent optimization runs. The action is valid only on shipments in Candidate for Optimization status (not valid for route created status).
- Cancel shipment
(New status only)
This action cancels a shipment originating in TM that is in New status.
- Duplicate
This action copies the shipment data to a new shipment record.

Shipment Number | A unique identifier of the shipment. |
Ship From | The address from which the shipment is to be sourced. |
Ship To | The address of destination of the shipment. |
Status | The status of the shipment:

Total Pieces | The total number of pieces of the shipment. |
Total Weight | The total weight of the shipment. |
Weight Unit of Measure | The weight unit of measure of the shipment. |
Total Volume | The total volume associated with the shipment. |
Volume Unit of Measure | The volume unit of measure of the shipment. |
Carrier Route | An identifier for the carrier route associated with the shipment, generated during the rating and routing process. |
Requested Ship Date Earliest | The earliest ship date when the customer would like goods to be shipped, displayed in your time zone for the Ship From location. |
Requested Ship Date Latest | The latest ship date when the customer would like goods to be shipped, displayed in your time zone for the Ship From location. |
Estimated Ship Date | The estimated date and time for the shipment pickup, displayed in your time zone for the Ship From location, calculated during the rating and routing process, if available. |
Carrier | The name of the carrier associated with the shipment. |
Requested Delivery Date Earliest | The earliest delivery date when the customer would like goods to be received, displayed in your time zone for the Ship To location. |
Requested Delivery Date Latest | The latest delivery date when the customer would like goods to be received, displayed in your time zone for the Ship To location. |
Estimated Delivery Date | The estimated date and time for the shipment delivery, displayed in your time zone for the Ship To location, calculated during the rating and routing process, if available. |
Tracking Number Type | One or more tracking numbers specified by the
carrier when accepting the route or automatically assigned when tendered to a
carrier with a configured PRO number definition.
A tracking number is required upon tender acceptance, but the carrier can edit it after the fact and can add additional tracking numbers. |

Freight Term | Payment terms for the freight charges, such as prepaid, collect, or third party. |
Bill To Party | The name and address of the party to whom the shipment is billed. |
Split Shipment Original Order Number | Presence of a Split Shipment Original Order Number indicates that the shipment was modified or created as a result of shipment splitting functionality. You can search using this number in More Fields to view all shipments that resulted from the splitting process. |
