Understanding shipment statuses

Status	Description
New	The initial status of the shipment. The user can perform these actions: Select Carrier: This action sends the shipment to rating and routing and if a rate contract/carrier is assigned, the shipment is placed into a status of Route Created. Further action must be taken from the resulting carrier route. The carrier route is placed in status of Carrier Selected. Tender Shipment: This action sends the shipment to rating and routing and if a rate contract/carrier is assigned, the shipment is placed into a status of Route Created. Further action must be taken from the resulting carrier route. The carrier route is placed in status of Tendered. Create Route: This action puts the shipment into a status of Route Created. During route creation, the user decides to save the route, select a carrier, or tender the route. The carrier route then has a status based on the action selected. Optimize: This action results in a Candidate for Optimization status. Cancel: This action puts a shipment into a Canceled status.
Candidate for Optimization	A shipment qualifies for optimization based on configuration rules. The user can perform this action: Cancel Optimize: results in removing the shipment from the optimization queue and changes the status to New.
Route Created	A route for one or more shipments was created through the rating and routing process, or the user created the route manually. No actions are available. The route must first be canceled and the shipment returned to status of New before any further action can be taken.
Canceled	The shipment is canceled by the system of record No actions are available.
Optimizing	A shipment has been acquired by an optimization profile and is currently involved in an optimization run No actions are available.
Splitting	The shipment is locked for splitting. Updates cannot occur be made to the shipment while in this status. No actions are available.
In Transit	A shipment has left the warehouse but has not been unloaded at the delivery location. No actions are available.
Delivered	A shipment has been unloaded at the delivery location. No actions are available.
