Working with shipment splitting rules

You must either modify the default splitting rule or define a splitting rule to utilize shipment splitting functionality. Shipment splitting rules determine if a shipment is split and how the splitting is handled.

Splitting rules are defined by the Freight Bill To party for the shipment. (Freight Bill To parties are set up in the Enterprise Workbench under Configuration > Trading Partner > Freight Bill To.)

The Freight Bill To ID and Company must match the Facility party ID and Company for "Prepaid" shipments. The Freight Bill To ID and Company must match the Ship To party ID and Company for "Collect" shipments. (A Freight Bill To will have already been created for "Third Party" shipments.)

• If Freight Bill To is set to Prepaid, the Freight Bill To defined in the splitting rule is matched to the Ship From party on the shipment.
• If Freight Bill To is set to Collect, the Freight Bill To defined in the splitting rule is matched to the Ship To party on the shipment.
• If Freight Bill To is set to Third Party, the Freight Bill To defined in the splitting rule is matched to the Third Party Payer of Freight on the shipment.
