Load plan overview

RF-directed loading allows the warehouse to plan, manage, and execute the loading of outbound vehicles with the respective shipments. The decision to use RF-directed loading implies that the warehouse intends to create a loading plan, such as a routing solution. Once the load plan is created, the application ensures it is carried out through Task Manager.

• Load sequences
  The loaders either indicate the load for which they need tasks, or let the system choose the next vehicle to be loaded. Within the selected load, the warehouse can control the sequence in which the containers or pallets are dispersed to the loader. The supported sequences include the following:

  • Reverse Stop

    Highest stop number is always passed first.

  • Stop Sequence

    Lowest stop number is always passed first.

  • Stop Group

    The loader scans an ID from the stop and the system passes the rest of the containers/pallets for that stop.

  • No Restriction

    Loader scans any container for the load in any order.

• Load patterns

  Infor SCE Warehouse Management also supports the use of load patterns. Load patterns dictate the specific order in which an outbound vehicle is loaded. These patterns can either be imported from an external source or manually entered on the console.

  Route information can be acquired in one of two ways: pre-routed and manual entry.

• Pre-routed

  This method indicates the client’s host system can already route their orders. The orders created on the host system are passed to Infor SCE Warehouse Management with the Customer, Order Handling Type, Route, Stop, and Delivery Date fields pre-populated. The customer also has the option of sending an External Load ID. Pre-routed information can come from the shipment order import, flow thru order import, or transship ASN import.

• Manual entry

  Acquiring route information through manual entry means the shipment orders already exist in the system, but do not contain any of the required routing details. The route information can be manually entered in the Load Planning screen. If orders already contain the route information, you can modify the route information from the Load Planning screen.

• Load schedule

  The load schedule screen allows you to create and modify daily load plans. The load plan is then applied to existing orders. From this screen, you can add or modify routes, as well as other fields.
